Homemade Chai Spice Blend

A simple and delicious recipe for Homemade Chai Spice mix with cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves, nutmeg, and allspice.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon
  • 4 teaspoons ginger
  • 2 teaspoons cardamom
  • 2 teaspoons allspice
  • 2 teaspoons nutmeg
  • 2 teaspoons cloves
  • 1 tablespoons brown sugar can swap for coconut sugar or omit
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper more or less to taste

  • Whisk
  • Measuring spoons
  • Storage jar

Method
 

  1. Mix and store. In a medium sized mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients. Whisk together until fully blended. Transfer into a storage jar and use as needed for up to 1 year. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Variations 
    • You can change up the amount of spices in this mix to really customize it for your taste buds. To create an extra spiced blend, add 1 teaspoon more of ginger and 1 teaspoon more of cardamom. 
    • The sugar is optional and can be changed to coconut sugar for a refined sugar free recipe, or omitted entirely. 
    • If you like star anise, a half teaspoon of this can also be added to the spices.
