Homemade Pizza Sauce (Vegan and Gluten Free!)

Ingredients
  

  • 28 oz tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3-4 garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Splash orange juice optional

Equipment

  • blender or food processor
  • Spatula
  • Cooking pot

Method
 

  1. Blend. In a blender or food processor, combine all the ingredients. Blend until smooth.
  2. Cook. Transfer the sauce to a small saucepan and cook over medium heat for about 20 to 30 minutes or until the sauce has reduced.
  3. Bake or Store. Use immediately on top of pizza or as a dipping sauce. Or, you can cool it and store for use another time. Enjoy!

Notes

How to Store
Fridge: Store any extra sauce in an airtight container and use within 3 to 5 days.
Freezer: Let the sauce cool completely and then store in freezer safe containers. Keeps well for up to 4 months. Make sure to leave a little extra room at the top of any container you use as pizza sauce will expand as it freezes.
